Privacy Policy

ClearingContractors.com — Effective: March 20, 2026

Vertlyn, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates ClearingContractors.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. We keep it plain — no legal jargon.

1. What Information We Collect

a. Information You Give Us

We collect information you submit directly through the Site:

  • Consumer lead forms: your name, email address, phone number, and message when you contact a contractor through the Site.
  • Contractor claim requests: your name, email address, phone number, company name, and your role at the business.
  • Premium listing sign-ups: billing information (processed securely through our payment processor — we do not store card numbers).

b. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect:

  • IP address and general location (city/region level)
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages visited, time on page, and referring URLs
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 4)

c. Business Listing Information

We compile publicly available business information — such as business name, phone number, address, website, and service descriptions — from public sources. This information is not submitted by the businesses themselves; it is sourced and enriched by us. If you are a contractor and wish to update or remove your listing, see Section 8.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Connect consumers with land clearing contractors (routing lead form submissions)
  • Process contractor claim requests and manage claimed listings
  • Process payments for premium listings
  • Improve and maintain the Site (analytics, bug fixes, performance)
  • Respond to questions and support requests
  • Send transactional emails (claim confirmations, lead notifications) — not marketing blasts

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share information only as needed to operate the Site:

  • With contractors: when you submit a lead form, your name, email, phone, and message are shared with the contractor you contacted.
  • With service providers: we use Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting and analytics), and a payment processor for premium listings. These providers access only what is necessary to perform their services.
  • As required by law: if we are required to disclose information by a court order, subpoena, or applicable law, we will comply.
  • In a business transfer: if Vertlyn, LLC is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred. We will notify you via the Site if that happens.

4. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors use the Site. Specifically:

  • Vercel Analytics: collects anonymized usage data (page views, device type, referrer) to help us understand Site performance. This is privacy-friendly analytics with no cross-site tracking.
  • Google Analytics (if enabled): tracks page views and custom events (e.g., phone number clicks, profile views). Google's privacy policy applies to data collected through this service.
  • Session cookies: used to maintain basic Site functionality. These expire when you close your browser.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some Site features. We do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, but we do not engage in cross-site behavioral advertising.

5. Third-Party Services

The Site is built on the following third-party infrastructure:

  • Vercel (vercel.com): Site hosting and deployment. Vercel may log request data including IP addresses per their privacy policy.
  • Supabase (supabase.com): Database hosting. Business listing data, lead form submissions, and claim request data are stored on Supabase servers.
  • Payment Processor: Premium listing payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not store payment card numbers on our servers.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing their use of data. We encourage you to review them.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected:

  • Lead form submissions: retained for up to 12 months, then deleted or anonymized.
  • Claim requests: retained for as long as the claim is active or until you request deletion.
  • Analytics data: retained per the analytics provider's default retention settings (typically 14 months for Google Analytics).
  • Business listing data: retained indefinitely unless a removal request is submitted (see Section 8).

7. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Opt out of the sale of your personal information (note: we do not sell personal information)
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@vertlyn.com. We will respond within 45 days.

8. Updating or Removing Your Information

If you are a contractor and your business is listed on the Site — whether or not you claimed the listing — you may request:

  • Correction of inaccurate information
  • Removal of your listing entirely

To make either request, email info@vertlyn.com with the subject line “Listing Update Request” or “Listing Removal Request.” Include your business name and a brief description of what you need changed or removed. We will process your request within 5 business days.

If you submitted a lead form or claim request and want your personal information deleted, email us at the same address. We will confirm deletion within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our Site, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top. If the changes are significant, we will post a notice on the Site. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance.
